favorite hip hop albums of 07.
as the year comes to an end, we tend to look back.
a lot of good albums came out this year, kanye west and 50 cent come to mind quickly. as of late you have freeway and beanie sigel from the roc, and wu tang and ghostface also dropping this month.
my question is, what hip hop albums were you feeling the most this year?
me personally, i was feeling commons album finding forever, and kanye wests album is probably my favorite this year. ghostfaces new album (my favorite m.c.) is bangin, you owe it to yourself to hear it. so is freeways album cop those. also i cant forget jay-z american gangster, another good 1.
now its on you. and do us a favor, if you dont like hip hop.. dont post.
peace.

I liked kaynes good life >.> but I hate everything else...stronger is a rip off.
Eminem, Fort Minor/LP are all I find worth listening too.

Hip-hop is dead. Too many fame seeking tards, not enough talent.

Kanye's album was bad compared to his 1st 2.
Talib Kweli's Eardrum, Commons Finding Forever and Jay-Z's American Gangster were all good, Nas's album next year should be good.
P.S 50 Cent sucks

The answer is always 2pac.
Why you ask? Because 2pac is the best ever hands down and because for some reason he's always coming out a new album every year. So no matter the year, the best hip hop album of the year will, indubitably, always be 2pac.

Loyal to the Game and Pac's Life were awful albums, and he only had a greatest hits this year.

2pac was a pioneer for the genre. There were better artists though.
Dr Dre has to rank as one of the best. Never been too keen on Nas/Jaz Z too much hype, not enough substance.

I don't know what my favorite would be this year, nothing that great came out. T.I. vs T.I.P. was pretty good, so was Graduation. I was hoping for the carter III and detox, but those got delayed.

I'd say Eminem is more of an attention seeker then a rap artist tbh.

The OP asked what your favorite album was this year, not your off topic opinion on rap.

I stopped listening to hip hop in the mid 90s. However I still enjoy real Old School Hip Hop: pre '86 - right before it became mainstream. Still my favorite hip hop group of all time is Mantronix

Don't post unless you know what you're talking about, you are basing your opinion on the stereotype that people like 50 Cent gave Hip Hop, how about you acctually listen to some of the good artists? I don't understand how you can say its not music without knowing anything about it.

To me It Was Written, Illmatic, Lost Tapes and Stillmatic were all enough evidence to show Nas as one of the greatest of all time.
Also forgot about Hip Hop Lives by KRS-One and Marly Marl was released this year too, not as good as KRS-One's past work though.

Oh, I know plenty. I know more than enough to say rap isn't real music.
Sure there may have been a few decent or great hip hop artists, but now, the whole genre has gone to the dawgs, quite literally.

Why isn't rap real music exactly? Yes there are more bad artists comming out than good but that dosn't stop it being real music, you may not enjoy it but people have different tastes. The whole Genre isn't dead, you still have old artists releasing good music which is keeping it alive, Nas, Common, KRS-One, Talib Kweli, and recenetly Lupe Fiasco, and there are alot of good underground artists.
